PostHeaderIcon Coral Restoration Foundation visits Buddy Dive Bonaire

Buddy Dive Resort News Letter BuddyDiveResort_Photo_01.png

During their yearly visit at Buddy in September, Ned & Anna Deloach (FishID books) pointed out a very interesting project being executed by Ken Nedimyer, president of the Coral Restoration Foundation. Of course this successful project got Buddy’s attention and the initial contact was made during DEMA in Orlando last year. The meeting resulted in Buddy Dive inviting Ken Nedimyer for a visit to Bonaire to look for possibilities to adapt the program in Bonaire.

PostHeaderIcon CRF International Project Brief

As of January and February of this year, 2010, the Coral Restoration Foundation was invited into and visited  two Caribbean island nations. The overal purpose was/is to begin discussing, developing, and eventually implementing coral nursery/reef restoration programs for local dive industries, community development, as well as ecotourism driven initiatives. Both of these programs are in their infancy stage and information will become availalble as they begin to mature.

These are certainly exciting times for us at CRF. Each day we are getting closer to taking local, grassroots conservation programs to the global level and empowering coastal communities to take their own action towards resource and reef management.

We will be posting photos and insight into the development of these projects and potenial others too over the next several weeks. Please stay tuned and updated with our endeavours and look for ways you too can help.

Thank you!

the Coral Restoration Foundation.
